20th Filipino Korean Cultural Festival Speech and Talent Contest

The Philippine Kpop Committee, Inc. is a proud partner of United Korean Community Association's 20th Filipino Korean Cultural Festival. As such, fans and enthusiasts who would like to join the Speech and Talent Contests may now send their application forms and videos through us and we'll be more than happy to accommodate you.

I. PARTICIPATION OUTLINE:

A. Filipino Speech Contest - Speaking in Korean (Theme: Koreans / Korea That I Know. Within 3 minutes only.)

Filipino Talent Contest - Singing Korean Songs / Korean Cultural or KPOP Dance /Playing Musical Instruments

B. Korean Speech Contest - Speaking in Tagalog (Theme: Filipinos / Philippines That I Know. Within 3 minutes only.)
Korean Talent Contest - Singing Tagalog Songs / Filipino Cultural or Contemporary Dance /Playing Traditional Musical Instruments

II. QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Korean and Filipino Citizens Residing in the Philippines (regardless of gender).
B. Professional Artists/Performers will be disqualified and only amateur applicants will be accepted.
C. Participants with special qualifications will be considered on the discretion of the host/organizers.

III. CRITERIA:

You may submit the filled-up form through email: philkpopcomm@gmail.com with subject title Fil-Kor Festival ; fax: 02-886-7997 or through meet-ups with the PKCI fanclub and officers, which we'll be announcing soon.

DEADLINE!!! Sept 15, 2011, 5pm

IV. AUDITION:
Metro Manila: Recommended participants from different organizations and offices as well as individual participants will be judged by UKCA. Performance should be a maximum of 5 minutes and you may opt to mix songs.

Elimination round will be held at Club Nyx, Makati Palace Hotel on October 1, 2011, 1pm.

However, if you cannot make it on the elimination day, you may also submit, along with your application form, a video of your audition piece. This video should:

1) Be on .AVI, .MPEG, .MOV format, and burned on a CD
2) Made specifically for the audition (not a fancam of a previous performance)3) Not uploaded online

Deadline of submission of CDs is on Sept 15, 2011 5pm. Again, we will be announcing our meet-up schedules.

V. ELIMINATION ROUND:

A. Semi-Final Round will be held among qualifiers from 7 regional offices and Metro Manila.
B. Winners of Grand Prize and First Runner Up for Speech Contest will be announced on the same day for both Koreans and Filipinos.
C. Date and Venue: Makati Sports Club - October 15, 2011 10am

VI. FINALS:
A. Announcement of Speech Contest Winners: Korean (2 Grand Winners and 1 Runner-up); Filipino (2 Grand Winners and 1 Runner-up)
B. Talent Contests (Singing, Dancing, Instrumentalists): 5 Korean Teams; 5 Filipino TeamsC. Finals will be held on October 29, 2011 during the 20th Filipino Korean Cultural Festival program at the Aliw Theater, 2pm.

VII. AWARDS AND PRIZES:
A. Speech Contest:
Grand Prize - Certificate + Gift Item/s (Korean and Filipino)
Runner-up - Certificate + Gift Item/s (Korean and Filipino)

B. Talent Contest:
Grand Prize - Trophy + Cash Prize of PHP 50,000
1st Runner-up - Trophy + Cash Prize of PHP 30,000
2nd Runner-up (2) - Trophy + Cash Prize of PHP 10,000
3rd Runner-up (2) - Trophy + Cash Prize of PHP 5,000

Popularity Award (2) - Trophy + Cash Prize of PHP 5,000
Consolation Prize (2) - Certificate + Gift Item/s (Korean and Filipino)

* Regardless of nationality, only one team who gets the highest score will be awarded as Grand Winner and 1st Runner-up, respectively.
* All finalists will be given opportunity to render performances during UKCA and other Korean organization's activities.
* PKCI reserves the right to choose and invite group/s from this event, who will automatically qualify for this year's KPOP CONVENTION'S Dance Battle III.
