Song Joong Ki W Korea Photoshoot in the Philippines

Song Joong Ki had a photoshoot for W Korea Magazine September 2011 issue in the Philippines. 

I'm not sure of the exact place in the Philippines but according to some of his fan's comments on Song Joong Ki's Facebook fan page it says somewhere in Carbon, Cebu, Philippines


Anyway, let's take a look at the concept of photography used.


This one is in a sari-sari store. A Philippine local version of convenience store. I think the concept  here is 'tindero' (shopkeeper).

I've seen comments on his fan page saying if Joong Ki will be the shopkeeper they can buy everything in that store. Another fan said maybe the store will be full of girls and that she will come every single day to the store. hahaha

  Maybe we will have different interpretations for this one. For me the concept here is "tambay" (bystander). In the Philippines, unlike here in Korea, for many reasons, maybe the hot weather or culture, it's not a sin or men are not considered crazy if they walk, even in some public places half-naked.

Obviously the concept of this one is "gitara" or "sista" (guitar). FYI, in the Philippines, the province of Cebu aside from being a popular tourist's spot for  its spectacular beaches, Cebu is also well-known for its guitars. When you visit Cebu you could see guitar stores lined up in many areas.

 


This one would be "videoke." A Filipino word, as far as I know, from the words video and karaoke. Well it's essentially the same as karaoke.

You can see a karaoke box as a background. This is a common scenario in the Philippines since Filipinos are known for their fondness for singing and even known to have extremely talented singers.

As an aspiring professional photographer myself, I also dream of doing photoshoots with concepts deemed "exotic" to the eyes of people from other countries/cultures.  

Surely this one made it's point. I think the photographer who worked on this did a lot of research and he or she is a very good observant. And having Song Joong Ki as a model for these pictures is definitely a perfect choice.
