Gangjin 강진 is known for the production of traditional Korean celadon.
Celadon is a type of
ceramics denoting both a type of glaze and a ware of a specific color originally invented in ancient China, primarily in Zhejiang Province. Gangjin 강진 is also the birthplace of Korean poet Yeongrang Kim Yun-sik, famous for his work in the 1930s and 1940s in the Jeolla dialect.
