Shinee (샤이니)

Hallyu is probably Korea's cultural ambassador in Asia. Scholars argue that the phenomenon is only in the Asian region, particularly East Asia but the hell I care lol...Let me start my Hallyu 101 entries with the group called Shinee! I didn't know the group before coming to Korea. All I know was Rain because of his shampoo commercial way back home...my name is Rain kkk One day I had this conversation with my Korean friends, let's call them A and B. I don't wanna reveal names because they might not want their names to be seen here kkk.

Friend A: "oh JM do you know Shinee?"

Me: uhm..yep I think I've heard of it (Honestly, I had no idea what the hell he was talking.)

Friend A: Minho is B's brother

Me: oh ok (I didn't know how to react because I didn't know what he was talking about.)

Friend A: I have their album. I'll ask B to have it signed by his brother haha

Friend B: haha

Me: (I was thinking...sign? hmm so B's brother must be an actor or something... so I said) wow I should have mine too then...

After that conversation I felt so embarassed because I did not know anything about K-pop or the Korea popular music. So I search for information about Shinee and viola I had many chances of seeing them in person.

First time was when I joined the World Campfest held in Deogyusan National Park, Muju, Jeonbuk (I will post another entry for this). I didn't expect to see the group Shinee but there you are I saw them.

Then I saw them again in other events like the 12th International Girl Scouts Camp in Korea where I was an international staff, Incheon Korean Wave concert, Dream Concert and many more other venues ^^

The group members are Onew ( leader and vocalist), Jonghyun (main vocalist), Key(vocalist and rapper), Minho (rapper), and Taemin(main dancer). They made their debut on 2008 (May 25) under SM Enterntainment. Same company with SNSD and Super Junior. I like their songs Nuna Neomu Yeppeo누난 너무 예뻐 (Replay), Ring Ding Dong, Jojo and more ^^ The group made a lot of success since their debut so until now they are very popular.
